Hey guys!
I hope your break was relaxing and you are ready to "hit the ground running"! Our next unit will be Asian literature (Chinese, Japanese, and Indian texts). We will begin by looking at poetry; ballads and Haiku. Brief information will be provided about various cultural and religious differences between Eastern and Western societies, and this will be further examined in the texts. We will then move onto Zen parables and end our unit by viewing the film, House of Flying Daggers. This unit will culminate into a written essay, in which you will be given guidance and options (so don't fret)! I have listed some sites that might be useful or interesting to you.
